Evaluation of Patch Budding Success in Persian Walnut Affected by Different Treatments after Budding

Vegetative propagation of Persian walnut (Juglans regia L.) is more difficult than many other fruit trees. Temperature, relative humidity, water status the scion and rootstock, nutrient uptake, time grafting, physiological condition type all can affect grafting success. An experiment was conducted to evaluate effects post-budding irrigation frequency (3, 7 10-days), budding date (14 June, 5 26 July), rootstock heading methods. All treatments evaluations their were performed in field conditions, for two consecutive years. Irrigation cycle, procedure had significant effects. Bud take greatest on July (49.3%). no effect bud but 3-day cycle resulted best growth. Bend branches create shade at site, rather cutting above site (61.1%).
